MTAA

Welcome to the Moy Tung Athletic Association (MTAA) website

The Moy Tung Athletic Association (MTAA) is a federation of independently owned and operated Ving Tsun schools in the Moy Tung Kung Fu lineage. We train & teach the Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu system of martial arts, for health, fitness and self-defense.

Moy Yat SSA disciple Grandmaster Moy Tung founded the Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy in 1986, at his Sifu Moy Yat’s direction, to “teach pure Ving Tsun, from the heart.”

From the start, his idea was to be a Sifu that trains Ving Tsun Sifus, as his Sifu, Moy Yat, did. Today, there are three generations of Sifus teaching Ving Tsun Kung Fu in the Moy Tung lineage, in more than 20 places around the US and Europe.

Our mission is from the Ving Tsun Kuen Kuit — Kung Fu idioms handed down through the ages from master to disciple. Carved in stone, with prints published in the book, Kuen Kuit by Grandmaster Moy Yat:

"Ving Tsun Chuen Jing Tung – Ving Tsun passing down the right way. This means to pass the true Ving Tsun System, unchanged by your own ideas." pg. 82

And the purpose: "Wa Ha Jun Hung Fung – Making the whole nation stronger.” pg. 84

FOR THE PEOPLE, THE PUBLIC AND STUDENTS

The public side of KungFuHQ.com hosts a wealth of Ving Tsun Kung Fu information in text, photos and videos.

Under the About tab in the Main Menu above, you’ll find info about the Ving Tsun System; the Moy Tung Lineage; and the MTAA.

The Blog is where you can keep up-to-date on MTAA news, info and developments.

The Archives tab has a Photo Gallery; Video Gallery; Events Archive; and a Press Archive.

The Events tab lists MTAA events. Our long-weekend workshops are a hallmark of training in the Moy Tung Kung Fu lineage. Most of these Ving Tsun workshops & seminars are private, only for active Moy Tung-lineage Sifus, invited guests and students at MTAA branch schools, but everyone can see the announced events of the Moy Tung clan.

The Schools tab is the list of authorized Moy Tung Kung Fu branch schools and clubs. If you’re interested in Ving Tsun (wing chun) Kung Fu classes for martial arts training, you can find a Kung Fu school nearby, plus see all the schools in the Moy Tung Kung Fu clan.

An Introductory Lesson is the best way to see what Ving Tsun training is like, and what the benefits are. In the Intro program at any of the MTAA Kung Fu schools, you’ll learn Ving Tsun training methods, techniques and strategies you can use immediately for physical exercise and self-defense, plus get the right Kung Fu foundation and knowledge to train productively in the Ving Tsun system.
